Shubman Gill has been in the staggering form of late during One-day international cricket. He produced another special knock during the 3rd match against New Zealand played at Holkar Stadium, Indore on 24 January 2023.

New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and decided to field first. Shubman Gill looked in brilliant touch right from the word go putting pressure on Lockie Ferguson hitting him for boundaries and keeping the momentum going for Team India. He timed the ball brilliantly and made the batting look easy on a placid batting pitch in Indore with short boundaries.

Gill completed his fifty off just 33 balls and kept pressure on New Zealand bowling. After completing a half-century, Gill continued to show class. He then looked impressive against Mitchell Santer and Bracewell hitting him for sixes. Gill then completed his century off 72 balls and then was dismissed eventually scoring 112 off 78 balls with 13 fours and 5 sixes.

Rohit and Gill added 212 runs for the opening wicket. India posted a massive total of 385 for 9 in 50 overs. Hardik Pandya scored quickfire 54 off 38 balls while Shardul Thakur made 25 off 17 balls.

Shubman Gill has been in sublime form

He remained not out in the 2nd One-day international match played at Raipur. Chasing down 109 runs to win, Gill scored 40 runs hitting the winning runs to help Team India win the match by 8 wickets.

Gill showed his class during the first One-day international match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on 18 January 2023. After opting to bat first, Gill looked in brilliant touch putting pressure on New Zealand bowlers right from the word go. Gill showed composure after losing wickets regularly, he kept rotating the strike.

He hammered Lockie Ferguson for three successive sixes to complete his double century. Gill was eventually dismissed with a stunning catch by Phillips for 208 off 149 balls with 19 fours and 9 sixes. Thanks to his brilliant knock, India posted 349 for 8 in 50 overs.

Gill ended the 3-match series with 360 runs and provided flying starts along with Rohit Sharma in the series. Babar Azam posted 360 runs from 3 matches against West Indies in 2016.
