Spin maestro Rashid Khan posted photos with his new Gujarat Titans captain, Shubman Gill, in anticipation of the IPL 2024 auction. In an image shared on X (formerly Twitter), Rashid and Gill were captured coordinating in black as they posed for the camera. Rashid provided a caption for the post:
“Thank you for stopping by captain Sahab (Sir).”
The location where the two cricketers met is undisclosed. Gill was recently observed enjoying the winter break with friends, including Bollywood actress Avneet Kaur, in London, UK.
Gill has been named the captain of the Gujarat Titans following Hardik Pandya’s return to his former Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Mumbai Indians (MI), in a ₹15 crore deal during the trade window.
Shubman Gill faces a significant challenge as he steps into the role, considering Pandya led Gujarat to their first title in the inaugural (2022) season. The all-rounder also captained the Titans to the IPL 2023 final, where they were defeated by eventual champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Discussing his forthcoming challenges as the IPL captain, Gill shared his thoughts at the 2023 India Business Leader Awards by CNBCTV18, stating:
“I will lead the Gujarat Titans as their captain. That challenge sounds really exciting. And a great deal of knowledge will be gained from that encounter. And ideally, I’ll be able to use those lessons to better myself and work on myself in light of those experiences and insights.”
