Following the World Test Championship (WTC) final in London, Shubman Gill recently paid a visit to League-1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Gill can be seen showing off a personalized jersey with the number 7 in an Instagram story.
Days earlier, the 23-year-old visited Manchester City, a Premier League team that had just won the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and the 2022–23 season. Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland were among the athletes he met while attending the FA Cup final recently.
PSG captioned the video when it was shared.
“Hello, friends. This is India’s favorite cricketer and PSG supporter, @shubmangill, at Parc des Princes. ” Gill replied :
Hello, my name is Shubman Gill and I’m here today. I want to thank Ici c’est Paris and everyone at PSG for having me. “The PSG stands are visible in the background of the video, where Gill is wearing a printed shirt and cool sunglasses.
The football players Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Are two that Gill declared last year to be huge fans of. Neymar joined PSG in 2017, while Messi had previously played there for a few seasons.
During the upcoming West Indies tour, Shubman Gill will play for Team India.
Shubman Gill recently failed to perform for Team India in the WTC final as his team was defeated by Australia by 209 runs.
With scores of 13 and 18, the right-handed batter came back. For the public outcry over his dismissal during the second innings, he was also assessed a 15% fine.
This came after he posted a screenshot showing Cameron Green touching the ball to the ground, but TV umpire Richard Kettleborough ruling it out. When there is no conclusive evidence, the decision is frequently made in favor of the batters.
Despite having an incredible IPL season where he scored 870 runs in 17 games, including three centuries and four half-centuries, Gill’s batting struggles continued.
During India’s tour of the West Indies next month, the cricketer from Punjab will next be seen in action. A few tests, three ODIs, and then five T20 International matches will be played by Team India.
In order to compete in the ODI World Cup of 2023 in India later this year, Shubman Gill will now try to regain his form. He has scored 624 runs, including a double century and two tons, in nine matches this year, averaging 78.
