1. 208 Against New Zealand
Gill’s career-defining innings came on January 18, 2023, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, where he scored a historic 208 off 149 balls against New Zealand. His innings, featuring 19 fours and 9 sixes, was a mix of classical strokeplay and audacious power-hitting.
Becoming the youngest player to score a double century in ODIs, he propelled India to 349/8. Despite Michael Bracewell’s valiant counterattack, India managed a narrow 12-run victory, marking this knock as a landmark in Gill’s career.
2. 121 Against Bangladesh
In the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash at Colombo, Gill played a determined innings of 121 off 133 balls while chasing 266 against Bangladesh. With wickets falling around him, he showcased composure and class, striking 8 fours and 5 sixes.
Although he fell at 209 and India narrowly lost by six runs, his knock highlighted his ability to hold an innings together under pressure and rebuild after early setbacks.

3. 130 Against Zimbabwe
On August 22, 2022, at Harare Sports Club, Gill scored a masterful 130 off 97 balls in the third ODI against Zimbabwe. Featuring 15 fours and a six, his controlled aggression and smart rotation of strikes guided India to 289/8.
His well-timed acceleration in the death overs proved decisive in a tense 13-run victory, earning him both the Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards, reinforcing his ability to dominate challenging situations.
4. 116 Against Sri Lanka
In the third ODI against Sri Lanka at Thiruvananthapuram on January 15, 2023, Gill scored 116 off 97 balls, including 14 fours and 2 sixes. His fluent and composed batting laid a strong foundation alongside Rohit Sharma, allowing Virat Kohli to accelerate later.
India posted a massive 390/5 and bowled Sri Lanka out for just 73, achieving a record 317-run victory. This innings showcased Gill’s ability to anchor the innings while maintaining momentum.
5. 112 Against England
On February 12, 2025, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gill scored a classy 112 off 102 balls against England after Rohit Sharma’s early dismissal.
He steadied the innings with Virat Kohli before accelerating with Shreyas Iyer, helping India post 356 runs. England was bundled out for 214, giving India a comfortable 142-run victory and highlighting Gill’s skill in anchoring and pacing the innings effectively.
