Ibrahim Zadran became the fourth Afghanistan player to score a century in Test cricket. He achieved this remarkable feat during 3rd day of the one-off Test match against Sri Lanka played at Singhalese Sports Club, Colombo on 4th February 2024.

Ibrahim Zadran was dismissed without opening his account on the opening day. In reply to Sri Lanka’s 439 runs in the first innings, Ibrahim looked solid in the second innings with solid defensive technique and kept Sri Lankan bowlers at bay. Ibrahim and Noor Ali Zadran showed intent as they ended the first session at 35 for 0.

After the lunch break, Ibrahim and Noor Ali Zadran showed solid technique keeping the Lankan bowlers toiling hard. Ibrahim made the batting look easy completing fifty off 115 deliveries. Ashita Fernando got an opening breakthrough dismissing Noor Ali Zadran with a lovely ball ending 106 runs partnership after the tea break.

Ibrahim looked solid making the batting look easy along with Rahmat Shah. Ibrahim and Rahmat Shah kept the scoreboard ticking keeping the scoreboard ticking. It was a superb batting effort as Ibrahim Zadran completed his maiden Test century off 216 balls with 11 boundaries. Afghanistan ended the third day at 199 for 1 behind by 42 runs. Ibrahim and Rahmat Shah added 93 runs for 2nd wicket.

Ibrahim Zadran kept the Lankan bowlers at bay making sure that Afghanistan could put pressure on the hosts.
