Team India lost the T20 International series against Sri Lanka. India lost the match against Sri Lanka in the 3rd and final T20I to lose the series against Hosts. However, Shikhar Dhawan led India were victories in the 3 match One Day International series. Meanwhile, On Friday the Indian players and staff are traveling back to India after finishing the limited-overs series.

However, one main member of Team India, Krunal Pandya didn’t travel with India. As he remained in mandatory isolation to recover from the Covid-19 virus. Notably, Krunal Pandya was tested positive on the day of 2nd T20I match between India and Sri Lanka

“Yes, only Krunal will have to stay back in Sri Lanka for the time being due to the mandatory isolation period of one week,” a senior BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

“After one week, if he has two negative RT-PCR reports, he will be allowed to fly back. Currently, he is on the fourth day of his isolation. All others are free to depart as they have all tested negative,” he added. 

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav doubtful for England series

Meanwhile, it wasn’t confirmed that whether Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will travel to India or not, they might directly travel from Sri Lanka to England. As the two players are scheduled to travel to England to be part of India’s squad in the 5 match Test series.

India was playing the last two T20I games without several big players in the team. As there were a total of 8 players who were in close contact with covid-19 positive Krunal Pandya. The list of players includes Hardik, Shaw, Yadav, Manish Pandey, Deepak Chahar, Krishnappa Gowtham, Ishan Kishan, and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Fortunately, 8 players were later tested negative. Notably, this was the second time in the series when there was a virus spread in either of the camps.
