Smriti role model for next generation Indians, especially for aspiring women”s sportsperson from India, is among the most watched female sports personalities in the country, with huge acknowledgment and fans.
The upswing of Smriti Mandhana”s aura amongst the general public started from the time she scored a memorable hundred in the first game of India”s campaign in the ICC women”s cricket world cup last year.
She recently scored another hundred to seal India”s first bilateral series win in Southafrica.
Left-handed Indian women’s cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana was on Thursday named as the new brand ambassador of Bata’s sportswear brand ‘Power’.
Smriti was quoted saying, “When I was approached for Power, the first thing that clicked was their vision to enable more and more young Indians onto a path of fitness. It is a great privilege to be the brand ambassador for Power as it truly reflects my personal style and values,”.
She further explained, “Any brand that fuels an active lifestyle in today’s world and helps people to overcome their inertia to start on a personal path to fitness, is a brand that I would love to partner with,”.
From February onwards, Mandhana will be seen promoting Power’s latest range. Country Manager, Bata India, Sandeep Kataria said “Smriti is undeniably one of the most talented sports personalities and a strong role model for all youngsters. We are honored to have Smriti who has brought such glory to our country, as the face of brand Power.”
This contract comes close to a year after the Indian women’s team returned from a successful World Cup campaign, where it finished runner-up. The players have been expressing about not getting endorsement deals since then.
And so such a deal for Smriti should pave the way for other famous Indian women”s cricketers & longtime stalwarts Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj.
Other highly talented youngsters would heartwarmingly welcome such support.
