England all-rounder Ben Stokes stirred controversy when he questioned MS Dhoni’s intent during India’s World Cup game against England. A lot has been talked on this with Pakistan cricketers claiming that India lost deliberately to knock Pakistan out of the tournament. While these claims are baseless, Sreesanth has slammed Ben Stokes for his comments.

It was the game at Birmingham where England defeated India comprehensively by 31 runs. The Men In Blues failed to chase England’s massive score of 337 for 7 during the mega event. MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 42 off 31 balls but most of the runs came in the last over when the contest was over.

Ben Stokes, in his new book ‘On Fire’, wrote that there was no intent from MS Dhoni during that game. Furthermore, Ben Stokes also called out Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s tactic in the opening overs mystifying. Meanwhile, the remarks didn’t go down well with Sreesanth, who took a jibe at the English all-rounder.

“I hope Ben Stokes wishes he never plays against Dhoni because he (Dhoni) doesn’t forget anything,” Sreesanth said during an Instagram Live.

“I wish Stokes all the best because if during the IPL or an India-England match, him and Dhoni cross paths again, whatever the one or two million Stokes has been getting, it’ll all go away. Dhoni may even end his career,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sreesanth, who will be free to play cricket in September this year after a ban of seven years, admitted that he is looking forward to bowl to Ben Stokes. The fast bowler from Kerala has been on a ban since his alleged involvement in 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.

“I openly challenge Stokes to dismiss Dhoni, irrespective of whether he’s the No. 1 allrounder in the world. Ben Stokes, you’ve been playing for the last four to five years and since I wasn’t playing, I am really looking forward to bowl to you brother. Just to give an answer to what you said about Dhoni,” he signed off.
