While the regular cricketers will be busy with the Test series against England, a second-string Team India will fly to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series, which starts from July 13. The Men in Blue led by Shikhar Dhawan will play three ODIs followed by three T20I matches.

The upcoming series will provide a couple of Indian youngsters, who have done relatively well in the domestic circuit in the last couple of years to impress the national selectors ahead of the T20 World Cup. The likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Chetan Sakariya have earned maiden call-ups while Prithvi Shaw has returned to the mix owing to brilliant shows in the last couple of months.

Speaking of Sri Lanka, they haven’t tasted much success in the past few years. They traveled to Bangladesh last month and suffered a 1-2 defeat in the ODI series. However, they must leave no stones unturned to defeat the ‘second-string Indian team. Notably, they’ll host England in six limited-overs matches before taking on India.
