After finishing the T20I series against Afghanistan, three Indian stars including Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, and Arshdeep Singh have been included in the next two unofficial Test matches against England Lions.
Abhimanyu Easwaran would lead the side in both four-day matches. Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Tilak Varma, Kumar Kushagra, Washington Sundar, Sourabh Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Vidwath Kaverrappa, Upendra Yadav, Yash Dayal and Akash deep Singh will play the 2nd four-day encounter.
The third four-day match will see Easwaran captaining the side with Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Kumar Kushagra, Washington Sundar, Shams Mulani, Arshdeep Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Vidwath Kaverrappa, Upendra Yadav, Yash Dayal, Akash Deep Singh.
Rinku Singh had a great outing in the 3rd match of the series putting on 190 runs for the 5th wicket against Afghanistan played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Tilak Varma got a chance in the first T20I but was dropped from the next two matches. Arshdeep Singh also got rested from the 3rd T20I match where Avesh Khan was included in the playing XI.
The second four-day match between India A versus England Lions will be played from 24th January onwards at Ahmedabad. They would play the 3rd unofficial Test match against England Lions from 1st Feb 2024.
It gives chances for young players to play longer format against the England Lions squad. Rajat Patidar played a breathtaking knock in the first innings with 151 while the rest of India A batters faltered.
Arshdeep Singh and Tilak Varma have been included in both squads while Rinku Singh has been named in the 3rd unofficial test match.

The two unofficial Test matches against England Lions will provide a chance for fringe players to prove their worth in a longer format.
