Cricket fans warmly remember De Villiers, who announced his retirement from the sport in 2021. The extraordinary batting skills and unmatched versatility during his twenty-year career have returned to the forefront as De Villiers makes his comeback. De Villiers linked up with an elite Game Changers team, including Jacques Kallis and Herschelle Gibbs, alongside Dale Steyn and Imran Tahir, when the WCL started its first season. As captain, De Villiers brings novelties of both leadership and enthusiasm to the team.
