They will be a part of the opener against Madhya Pradesh starting from November 1. While Ashwin will depart for the much-awaited series against Australia, this domestic tournament will be a platform to regain the chances for Dinesh Karthik and Murali Vijay.
The chances for the duo have been bleak in recent times as they weren”t considered after their dismal performance against England.
Murali Vijay created an impact as an opener of Essex as he enjoyed a good run in the county championship. On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik couldn”t take his team to the finals of Deodhar Trophy but performed exceedingly well with the bat.
The Ranji team also includes Vijay Shankar, Washington Sundar and Abhinav Mukund who already represented in Indian colours.
It is to be noted that the domestic season this year is a lengthy one as it covers over 2017 matches. A blend of youth and experience can really create wonders for the team and the sides will be looking to give their full potential in the middle to earn call-ups.
