Virat Kohli, who crashed out of the playoffs, looks back on the journey of the Indian Premier League 2024 in a video posted by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Samson-led Rajasthan Royals team eliminated the RCB team.

RCB was playing below average and languished in the bottom half of the table during the first part of the season, but they advanced to the playoffs with six straight wins starting in the final week of April.

“Our performance in the first half of the season was really under par for us. We were not living up to the standards that we have as cricketers. And then we just started expressing ourselves, started playing for our self-respect, and then the confidence came back.” Kohli said.

“And then, you know, we just started expressing ourselves, started playing for our own self-respect, and then the confidence came back, and the way we turned things around and qualified was truly special. Something that I’ll always cherish and remember because it took a lot of character and heart from each member of this team, something that we can be proud of. And eventually, we played the way that we wanted to play,” said Kohli on the turnaround of fortunes.

“Thank you to the fans”- Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, who was knocked out of the playoffs, also praised the fans for their steadfast support and for turning out in large numbers not only in Chennai but in other stadiums around the country where they played.

“The support from the fans is unwavering every season. And this season was the same. It wasn’t any different and we’re very thankful for that. And we’ll always be grateful for the way they turn out in numbers, not just in Bangalore, but all over the country when we play. So, thank you very much for all your support and your wishes,” Virat Kohli added.

In the IPL 2024 Eliminator on Wednesday, Virat Kohli scored 33 runs against the Rajasthan Royals, capping his lead at the top of the run-scoring record. Nevertheless, after losing to RR by four wickets, the former captain of the RCB, who has scored 741 runs in 15 innings, will not be able to play any more innings this season.
