Steve Smith was banned from International and Domestic cricket earlier this year for his intervention in the ball tampering actions on the field. The incident took place against Southafrica at Newlands, Capetown.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Smith might be in action on the field in a very short span of time from now. He is expected to feature in a T20 tournament at Canada. ICC sanctioned the league in February, making it the first sanctioned T20 competition organised by an Associate nation in North America. The franchise(in which Smith will represent) details and the schedule are expected to be out soon.

The tournament will be played from June 28 -July 16 and will feature six teams: Caribbean All-Stars, Toronto Nationals, Montreal Tigers, Ottawa Royals, Vancouver Knights and Winnipeg Hawks.

A week back, the NSW club cleared Smith and Warner to play the grade cricket for his home side Randwick Petersham. This news comes as a delight for his fans who are wanting him to see him on the field.

Smith who was banned for a year, spent some quality time with his fiancee in the USA. Apart form his ban he was also sanctioned 100 hours of voluntary service in community cricket.
