Dinesh Karthik after his one of the best Indian Premier League (IPL) stints this year, has managed to make a stronger than ever comeback in the international cricket. The veteran Indian wicketkeeper batter with his exceptional performances, so far this season, is paving a way into the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.

Karthik, in the ongoing T20 International series against South Africa, has scored 92 runs in 4 innings, at an average of 46 and a massive strike rate of 158.62. This tally includes Karthik’s most recent half-century in the fourth game of the series, where the 37-year-old played a fabulous and much-needed knock of 55 runs in merely 27 deliveries, with 9 fours and a couple of sixes.

Following the praise and attention, Karthik is receiving for his splendid performance in the come-back series, an old chat between Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Karthik has resurfaced on social media.

It was Karthik who posted a photograph of himself with a well-dressed look, back when India toured England last time. Karthik had joined the commentary panel with most of the retired players, then. Commenting on the post, Sharma wrote: “You still have some cricket left. FYI!”. Replying to the Indian skipper, Karthik said: “Don’t ever doubt that sham (A winking emoji).”

Besides, Karthik seems to be carrying his IPL form, where he had notched 330 runs in 16 innings, at an average of 55 and a considerable strike rate of 183.33. ‘The finisher’ Karthik, will take the field again tonight (June 19), in the series decider, at his IPL home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium, in Bengaluru.
