“Such Comments Come When India Loses A Match” – India All-rounder Reacts To Kapil Dev’s ‘Arrogrance’ Remark

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja reacted to former cricketer Kapil Dev’s “arrogant” remark about the Team India players ahead of the third and final ODI against West Indies in Trinidad. He expressed that there is no arrogance in Indian players. He also added that such questions only arise when Team India loses a match.

In a recent interview with The Week magazine, Kapil Dev expressed that the current bunch of Indian cricketers have become arrogant as they are earning a lot of money. He also added that the players seem to think that they know everything and hence don’t consult with former cricketers. Kapil Dev said,

“Sometimes, when too much money comes, arrogance comes. These cricketers feel they know everything.”

Reacting to Kapil Dev’s comments, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja shared that everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, he added that he doesn’t think that the current bunch of Indian players is arrogant. Addressing the media ahead of the third ODI, Jadeja said,

“I don’t know when he said this. I don’t search these things on social media. See everyone has their own opinion. Ex-player have full right to share their opinion, but I don’t think there is any arrogance in this team.”

No one has taken anything for granted: Ravindra Jadeja

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja further expressed that the players are hardworking and don’t take anything for granted. He also shared that questions are raised about the players, only when they lose a match. Jadeja added that the aim of the players is to do well for the team. He said,

“Everyone is enjoying their cricket and everyone are hardworking. No one has taken anything for granted. They are giving their 100 per cent. Such comments generally come when the Indian team lost a match. This is a good bunch of boys, this is a good group. We are representing India and that is our main aim, there is no personal agenda.”

The three-match ODI series between India and West Indies is levelled at 1-1 after the first two matches. The third and final ODI will take place on Tuesday, August 1 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
