Sunil Narine is identified to bamboozle even the best batsmen in T20 cricket. The mystery spinner over the years has won the reputation of being of one the greatest T20 spinners of all time.

Recently, Narine began the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with a bang as he contributed with both bat and ball. However, he did not feature in the last three matches for his side the Trinidad Knight Riders due to undisclosed reasons.

Narine had kidney stones removed – McCullum

Now his coach in CPL Brendon McCullum has shared the reason for Sunil Narine missing the matches. McCullum stated that the spinner had kidney stones removed a few days back but is now available for selection after his treatment.

The coach of the Knight Riders confirmed that Narine has now sufficiently healed and determined to produce big performances again.

“He’s good, he had a bit of an issue, a strange injury actually – kidney stones and he had them removed the other day,” McCullum revealed. “He has been good, ever since he had them taken out he has been great. He played football yesterday, which he loves. We saw him really get up for that as well. He’s determined for a big performance today, hopefully, we see the best of him”.

“He started the tournament so well, we know he’s such a world-class player especially in these type of conditions”, said McCullum while Speaking to the host broadcaster ahead of the match against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Meanwhile, the Kolkata Knight Riders will also be relieved after knowing that the spinner is back to full fitness. Narine will be once again representing the Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming IPL season in the UAE. The CPL is scheduled to end on September 10, with the IPL set to start on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates.
