Suryakumar Yadav has gone to Germany for his second recent surgery and is likely to be back within a week. The top-ranked T20I men’s batsman will have a procedure for a groin or sports hernia, similar to what KL Rahul underwent in 2022. It is expected to take around four to five weeks for him to fully recover.

In addition to the recent ankle surgery following an injury in the T20 International series in South Africa last month, sources from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) indicate that Suryakumar Yadav might be prepared for the Indian Premier League (IPL) starting in late March.

Furthermore, he is expected to be fully fit for the T20 World Cup in June. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) has strategically made decisions to guarantee that Suryakumar, a crucial player for India’s World Cup prospects, will be thoroughly prepared for the June event.

In the past, the NCA employed similar calculated measures for Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer, and Rahul, ensuring their fitness for the World Cup held last October-November. Suryakumar had been in the rehabilitation process before his recent trip to Munich.

Sources suggest that Suryakumar may have had or is expected to undergo surgery on Thursday. Generally, hernia or groin surgeries are not deemed serious, and those who undergo such procedures are often permitted to jog starting from the second day.

However, the treatment plan for Suryakumar is distinct, given his recent ankle surgery. He departed for Germany on Tuesday.

BCCI officially announces Bengaluru and Delhi as the venues for WPL

The BCCI has formally declared Bengaluru and Delhi as the hosting cities for the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) second season. As previously mentioned, the league is scheduled to commence in Bengaluru and wrap up in Delhi.

The BCCI communicated this decision to all relevant parties on Wednesday. Although the teams have not received the schedule yet, it’s common for the two finalists, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in this instance, to potentially compete in the opening match.
