Several formats of cricket are really keeping the fans engaged to the game. A new format was even proposed into England County cricket where only 100 balls will be played per side. But there”s another league which has caught the attention of ICC. T10 cricket league.

The league received less attention during its first year where Kerala kings won the tournament under the captaincy of Eoin Morgan. Now, this league has been validated by ICC thus raising its standards to the next level. Addition of two more teams will be a boost to the league and the Emirates cricket board is really enthusiastic about it.

This year the tournament will be a ten-day affair and the drafts are already out. Afghanistan star leg-spinner Rashid Khan (Maratha Arabians), Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi (Pakhtoons) and Malik (Punjabi Legends), Morgan (Kerala Kings), New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum (Rajputs), West Indies’ Sunil Narine (Bengal Tigers) and Darren Sammy (Northern Warriors) and Australia’s Shane Watson (Karachians) have been named the icon players for respective franchise.

The schedules aren”t out yet and it will be really interesting if many international stars can be a part of this extravaganza. However, none of the active Indian cricketers was a part of the event last year. Virender Sehwag marked his appearance last year and no news regarding his appearance in this year.

So what do you think? Is it a good way to promote the shortest format of the game?
