West Indies legend Chris Gayle was in his element during their last T20 World Cup 2021 fixture against Australia, which could potentially be his last outing in the World Cups. He enjoyed every bit of the match and entertained the fans to the core.
The Universe Boss kicked off the proceedings in Abu Dhabi, smashing two sixes before being dismissed by Pat Cummins on 15(9). Gayle then lighten up the mood around the venue when he came to bowl the 16th over and also ended up picking a wicket.
Chris Gayle’s antics on the pitch didn’t go unnoticed as he was seen jumping on Mitchell Marsh’s back after dismissing him and midway during his over the tall all-rounder went up to David Warner to check his pockets.
While the scenes left most cricket fans in delight, England’s Barmy Army, a fan community, took a cheeky dig against Australian opener Warner. Sharing a picture of the same on Twitter, they wrote:

For the unknown, David Warner received a lot of falk for the ball-tampering saga against South Africa in 2018. He along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were handed bans for their antics on the field.

Australia rode onto David Warner’s antics with the bat to trump West Indies in their final group fixture to book a semifinal berth alongside England from Group 1. The southpaw smashed an unbeaten 89 runs off just 56 balls with nine fours and four sixes to take the Aussies over the line with 22 balls to spare.
Speaking at the end of the game, David Warner admitted that it was satisfying to bat till the end and score the winning runs for the team. He said:
“It felt satisfying to be there and hitting the winning runs. The key was to come out and play my natural game, target the bowlers up front. Obviously the slow bowlers bowling with the new ball there needs to be some adjustment, especially with Akeal Hosein who was swinging it and hard to get away with. For me it is about targeting the first two balls of the over and Mitch Marsh coming in and playing that knock was outstanding.”
