Australian cricketer Adam Zampa tested covid-19 positive ahead of Australia’s match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, October 25 in Perth at the 2022 T20 World Cup. He will miss the clash against Sri Lanka, as confirmed by the Australian skipper Aaron Finch at the toss.
A report in ‘DailyTelegraph’ mentioned that Adam Zampa has tested covid-19 positive. However, he has minor symptoms, which should not be a cause for concern for the Australian team. The leading spinner has not been included in Australia’s T20I team for the Sri Lanka match.
According to the T20 World Cup tournament rules, Zampa was allowed to play the game. However, the Australian team has decided to rest the 30-year-old. Ashton Agar replaced Adam Zampa in Australia’s XI against Sri Lanka, expressed skipper Aaron Finch.
“Adam Zampa is OUT with illness, replaced by Ashton Agar,” said Aaron Finch.
