The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Qualifiers round has reached the business end. Sri Lanka will take on the Netherlands in Match 9 of the tournament on October 20 at the Simonds Stadium in Geelong. The team that wins the match, will directly qualify for the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.
The Netherlands is at the top of the table with four points from two games. They defeated the UAE and Namibia earlier in the tournament. However, the Netherlands has yet not qualified for the Super 12 stage. If they lose against Sri Lanka, they can still qualify, given Namibia loses against UAE.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka is at number 3 in the points table. They lost their opening match against Namibia but won the second against UAE by a good margin. If Sri Lanka loses the final match, they will have to hope that Namibia loses by a huge margin and falls behind on NRR. Namibia plays against UAE later on the same day at the same venue.
