Prepare yourself for an amazing cricket show! The long-awaited battle of India and Pakistan is going to happen at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 15, 2026, during the T20 World Cup. This match, which is predicted to be the most electrifying one in the tournament, is going to be watched by a large number of people with great interest all over the world, as the rivalry between the two nations is very strong.
The BCCI has already sent the proposed schedule to the ICC for sanction, and the official announcement is quite near. Interestingly, the same ground had earlier this year on October 5 hosted the Women’s ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan. Is the same scenario going to unfold?
T20 World Cup 2026: Why Colombo for India vs Pakistan?Â

The T20 World Cup 2026 is just a few days away, starting on the 7th of February 2026, with a bang! The final match will take place on the 8th of March, and we are all excited to find out who will be the last team to fight for the title.
The India-Pakistan clash is going to be a great one; it is already marked as the most awaited match on the 15th of February in Colombo! However, if Pakistan doesn’t reach the finals, the contest can get transferred to Ahmedabad. Politics and traveling limitations may take a part in this; therefore, Sri Lanka is the safe place in case Pakistan succeeds in reaching the final.
This is not the first occasion India has met Pakistan in a World Cup match – they were the victor by 5 runs in the 2024 T20 World Cup on June 9. Today, as the defenders of the title, they are aiming at the stars. One of the reasons for holding the match in Colombo is the BCCI and PCB’s agreement to have major games in third-party locations.
Along with the Sri Lankan venues, five Indian cities – Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai – are going to be the tournament’s host cities. Colombo has been chosen for the mega India-Pakistan clash, and the fans are going crazy! The ground is ready for an amazing fight.
