Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra raised concerns over India’s weak links in the spin departs in the wake of the first warm-up game leading to the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. However, the Men in Blues convincingly beat England by seven wickets to begin their campaign.
Despite a convincing win, the management will lose their sweat over Rahul Chahar’s of-form. Chahar gave away 43 runs from his four overs which raised concerns to many fans including Aakash Chopra. The cricketer-turned-commentator took to Twitter to express his concern with a cryptic tweet. He wrote:

Aakash Chopra hinted at the absence of senior leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Young Rahul Chahar was preferred over Chahal on the basis of his form in the first half of IPL 2021, but the Mumbai Indians spinner lost his rhythm by the time he landed in the UAE. Chahal, on the other hand, looked in superlative form with the ball.
India beat England to gear up for the tournament opener
Batting first, England posted 188 runs on the board riding on Jonny Bairstow and a late impetus from Moeen Ali. Jason Roy and Jos Buttler gave the Three Lions a decent start before India came back with a couple of wickets.
However, England batters kept the scoreboard ticking before Moeen Ali unleashed carnage in the death overs. He scored an unbeaten 43 off 20 deliveries including four boundaries and two sixes to put England to a challenging total but it was not enough to beat India.

The Men in Blues came all guns blazing with KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan going after the new balls bowlers. Rahul and Ishan both scored individual half-centuries to set the platform before Rishabh Pant took Virat Kohli & Co over the line with an over to spare.
