In a shocking statement former Pakitan skipper Shahid Afridi has said that Tabilan who are currently ruling Afghanistan are ready to support their cricket and even women’s cricket for that matter. Things are constantly escalating in Afghanistan where the Talibans are continuing the warfare to rule over the entirety of the Afghan nation.

In a situation where the Talibans are showing no mercy over their fellow nation, Shahid Afridi has delivered a controversial statement saying that the Talibans are ready to support Afghanistan cricket. Afridi said that the Taliban who have taken over Afghanistan recently have come with a ‘positive frame of mind’.

“Taliban have come with a very positive mind. They’re allowing ladies to work. And I believe Taliban like cricket a lot,. Taliban is giving jobs to ladies, supporting cricket and the cricket series against Pakistan as well. Taliban is very positive towards cricket,” said Afridi to the media.

In the same interaction, Afridi has also announced that the next PSL edition would be his last and he would love to play for the  Quetta Gladiators. Franchise owner Nadeem Omar had last week said that Afridi told him that he would join his PSL franchise for the seventh season of the tournament set to take place in 2022. He further said that they might appoint Afridi to lead the team in place of Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Afridi also touched upon the bio-secure bubble and the controversial Kashmir Premier League in his media interaction in Karachi. He said that players are pulling out from commitments due to the constant pressure of staying inside the same environments in bio-secure bubbles.

Regarding KPL he said “There is a dearth of facilities when it comes to cricket, therefore, businessmen should cooperate to promote cricket,” the former Pakistan all-rounder added.

Shahid Afridi played 37 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20 games for Pakistan in his international career.
