Team India Fast Bowler Akash Deep Served Notice Over New Car Registration Issue

Team India’s prominent pacer Akash Deep has recently come into the spotlight for reasons beyond his cricketing achievements, following the purchase of a new vehicle. According to a report by India Today, the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has issued a notice to him for allegedly operating the vehicle without a High Security Registration Plate.

The 28-year-old cricketer posted photographs of his Fortuner SUV on Instagram, featuring himself alongside family members, accompanied by the caption:

“Dream delivered. Keys received. With the ones who matter most.”

However, Akash Deep’s significant life event has been overshadowed by a notice issued by the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department. The dealership, M/s Sunny Motors, is also facing investigation for selling the vehicle without completing the registration process or installing the mandatory High Security Registration Plate.

As a result, the dealer has been suspended for one month. Meanwhile, the cricketer has been given a 14-day period to submit a response explaining the situation.

Akash Deep’s 13-Wicket Haul Powers Team India To Series Draw In England

On the cricketing front, Akash Deep had a successful series in England, taking a total of 13 wickets across the three Test matches he participated in during the tour. His standout performance came in the second Test at Edgbaston, where he claimed 10 wickets after being recalled to replace Jasprit Bumrah, contributing to the visitors’ 336-run victory.

Although his impact was limited in the third Test at Lord’s and the subsequent match at The Oval, it did not prevent the series from ending in a 2-2 draw. The Bihar-born pacer played a pivotal role in breaking a crucial partnership between Joe Root and Harry Brook on the fourth day of the fifth Test at The Oval by dismissing Brook for 111 runs.

This breakthrough allowed the visiting side to intensify their pressure and successfully defend a target of 374 runs, winning the match by six runs. Looking ahead, Deep has been named in the East Zone squad for the upcoming Duleep Trophy, scheduled to commence on August 28.
