Team India Get Grand Reception Ahead Of 2nd ODI Against New Zealand
India beat NZ in first ODI

Team India was given grand reception after they arrived in Raipur for the 2nd match of the series to be played on 21 January 2023. Rohit Sharma and Co were welcomed with a traditional dance alongside a welcome shawl for the entire continent. Hardik Pandya was the first to get off the bus with Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Umran Malik started following.

Indian Team held onto their nerves to win the first One-day international match by 12 runs in a high-scoring thriller played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Rohit Sharma and Co would be looking to seal the series while number 1 ranked ODI side New Zealand will look to level the series as their top order failed to fire.

It was a high-scoring affair as India posted 349 for 8 in 50 overs. Shubman Gill was the top scorer with 208 off 149 balls with 19 fours and 9 sixes. He looked in sensational touch right from word go. Rohit and Gill began the innings well putting on 60 runs for the opening wicket. Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan failed to get going. Gill hammered the Kiwi bowling line-up hitting 3 successive sixes off Lockie Ferguson to complete his double century. He was eventually dismissed for 208 helping Team India post a massive total.

Team India will take on New Zealand in the 2nd ODI

Mohammed Siraj was the pick of the bowlers for Team India with 4 wickets including well-set Mitchell Santer and Shipley in the same over to tilt the match in favour of the Indian team. Despite Bracewell’s 140, Shardul Thakur held onto his nerves nailing a perfect yorker to dismiss Bracewell helping Team India win the match by 12 runs.

Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, Raipur will be hosting their first ever One-day international match ever. The Indian Team would be looking to seal the series with another superb performance.

Apart from Gill, Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Ishan, Hardik Pandya, and others should contribute to helping Team India post a big total again. It promises to be another great pitch to bat on and the crowd at Raipur would be hoping the big guns of India showcase their domination over New Zealand bowling.

Apart from Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav, other Indian bowlers struggled to keep rhythm. Umran Malik might be included with his raw pace in 2nd ODI.
