Team India retain ICC Test Championship Mace

The Indian side retained the test mace for
the third consecutive year. Ruling in whites, India is placed at the top of the
rankings with 116 points. It is to be noted that India hasn”t even lost a test
series at home since 2012-13. Last year, though the side couldn”t win the
series in Southafrica and England, Mission Australian down under was
accomplished successfully.

India will be awarded a prize money of one million dollars for their performance. This is indeed a great achievement for captain Kohli who has been one of the chief architects behind this successful stint.

Speaking on the same Virat Kohli said “Retaining the ICC Test Championship Mace once again is something we are all really proud of. Our team has been doing well across formats but it gives us extra pleasure to come out on top of the Test rankings. We all know of the importance of Test cricket and of how only the best can prosper in the format.Our team has a lot of depth and I am sure this will stand us in good stead once the ICC World Test Championship commences later this year. On the other hand, New Zealand the second-ranked side will receive $ 5,00,000 from the ICC. The side has done exceptionally well after their win against Pakistan at UAE. Youngsters like Jeet Raval and Henry Nicholls have showcased their skills on the bigger stage and the skipper is extremely happy for their efforts.
