Team India Skipper & Head Coach Demand For Hike in Central Contract :- Just as the tenth season of the IPL has come to an end, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Anil Kumble have whopping demands for the BCCI.
The two demanded a massive hike to 150 per cent of the current salary for Grade A players in the Central Contracts and decent raise for the support staff Which includes Kumble himself, batting coach Sanjay Bangar, fielding coach R Sridhar, physio, trainer, video analyst, throwdown specialist (Raghavendra).
Anil Kumble drafted a detailed presentation of the demand and handed it over to the Committee of Administrators (COA)Â and the BCCI office-bearers , CEO Rahul Johri, Amitabh Chaudhary and Aniruddh Chaudhary in Hyderabad.
Virat Kohli was not able able to make it to the meeting so he joined them through Skype. The BCCI officers listened to each point Anil Kumble had to say and noted them down. They will have a talk regarding this and the Committee of Administrators will take the final call.
” Although Anil and Virat spoke separately, both stressed on the fact that performers in Test cricket should be kept in the highest bracket. Also there is someone like Cheteshwar Pujara, who is not getting IPL contracts whereas someone like Pawan Negi, who doesn”t even play Ranji Trophy gets Rs 8.5 crore for 45 days. That”s something that needs to be worked out,” a senior BCCI source in the know of things said .
“I won”t quote the figure but it”s quite a raise that Anil Kumble has demanded . Now while raising the issue of players, whether it was right on Kumble”s part to demand hike for support staff of which he is a direct beneficiary is a question,” an BCCI official questioned.
