Former India pacer Zaheer Khan was all praise for Yashasvi Jaiswal, saying that he is not abusing his form. Jaiswal has been in terrific form in the five-match test series against England. He is the leading run-scorer in the series so far and slammed a fifty in the ongoing test at Dharamsala.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 712 runs in five matches at an average of 89, including two double centuries, and three fifties. His highest score of an unbeaten 214 came in the third Test in Rajkot. He has broken several records this series and also got to the 1000 runs landmark. Indian pacer Zaheer Khan lauded Yashasvi Jaiswal’s consistency. Speaking to Sports18, Zaheer Khan said,
“The hunger to score runs is something which is very evident, for a player to have this kind of approach so early in his test career is something which gets everyone excited right now when you’re looking at him and the way he’s approaching the game.”
“That potential is going to be immense. He’s raised everyone’s expectations which he will have to live up to, and that’s gonna add more pressure. But there are a lot of good signs when you’re looking at him the way he’s approaching the game, he’s not abusing his form,” he added.

Former India cricketer Zaheer Khan further expressed that Yashasvi Jaiswal is showing the right signs of consistency. He added that the batter has an opportunity to build himself a reputation of being a consistent player. Jaiswal became the fastest Indian to reach 1000 runs in Test cricket, getting to the landmark in just nine tests.
“He just wanted to consolidate his form, not take the form for granted is something which is very important. So he’s showing all those right kinds of signs for these kinds of performances to come more consistently in future. These kinds of series as an individual, you don’t have many in your career. So he’s got a great opportunity to build himself this kind of repetition where it’s just going to consistently score this kind of runs,” said Zaheer Khan.
