Border Gavaskar Trophy 2021 was the most historical test series in the history of Indian cricket. Indian cricket team won the test series by 2-1 in Australia despite facing so many challenges. Ravichandran Ashwin played a crucial role in this BG Trophy win for Indian Team.

It was an unbelievable comeback from the Indian cricket team after facing a crunching defeat in the first Match at Adelaide where India got all out for 36 runs. Indian director Neeraj Pandey has made a documentary “Bandon Mein Tha Dum ” on this amazing fight back from the Indian team.

During the trailer launch of documentary, Ravichandran Ashwin recalled an incident when the Indian team was travelling to Sydney by flight. Ashwin revealed that they encountered a heavy storm on their way to Sydney from Melbourne.

The Indian spinner further said that they thought they wouldn’t be able to reach safely. Ravichandran Ashwin during trailer launch said: “We were flying to Sydney and the flight encountered a thunderstorm. It was so scary that for a moment, I thought that the flight would never land”

“Documentary was best format for me to do, not the film”- Neeraj Pandey on the idea of documentary

Neeraj Pandey revealed the motivation behind making this documentary. He said that he wanted to document the contribution of all 20 players. He further revealed that it wouldn’t have been possible to recreate this miracle through a film. So it was better to create a documentary.

Neeraj Pandey said, “I think it would have been wrong to recreate the miracle that has happened in reality. The whole series of four Test matches was a huge sporting event of our recent time. I couldn’t have done any justice by recreating it on-screen. My focus was to document the contribution of all the 20 players throughout the tournament in an honest manner. So documentary was the best format for me to do that, not a film.”
