The Indian team scripted history by winning the inaugural edition of the ACC Womens Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 by defeating Bangladesh in the final on Wednesday, June 21 at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. Shreyanka Patil and Kanika Ahuja played a crucial role in India’s win 31-run victory.
Batting first, India put on 127 runs on the board at the loss of seven wickets. Vrinda Dinesh slammed 36 runs off 29 deliveries, with five boundaries and a six. Kanika Ahuja also played a blazing knock with four boundaries, scoring 30 runs. Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter picked up two wickets each for Bangladesh.
In response, Bangladesh was bowled out for a paltry 96 runs. Shreyanka Patil once again pulled off a brilliant bowling performance. She took four wickets conceding just thirteen runs.
