The Women’s Hundred tournament is about to start on 1st August 2023. This will be the third edition of this tournament. The team names include Trent Rockets, Southern Brave, Welsh Fire, Manchester Originals, London Spirit, Oval Invincibles, Northern Supercharger, and Birmingham Phoenix will take part in the 3rd edition of the hundred.

Nat Sciver Brunt will lead the Trent Rockets team. The Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur would feature in Trent Rockets. The stylish Indian left-handed opener Smriti Mandhana will also take part in the Southern Brave team that will be led by Anya Shurbsole.

Tammy Beaumont will lead the Welsh Fire team that has no Indian in the team. Manchester Originals does not include an Indian player that would be led by Sophie Ecclestone. Heather Knight will captain the London Spirit side that includes wicketkeeper bat, Richa Ghosh.

Oval Invincibles won the Hundred title twice in 2021 and 2022. They would be looking to make a mark with another brilliant performance. Dan Van Niekerk will lead the side and would hope that their side can win the treble.

Jemimah Rodrigues has been named as a replacement for the Northern Supercharger side. They will be led by Hollie Armitage. Ellyse Perry will not take part in the Hundred as she was named the captain of the Birmingham Phoenix side.

Performance of 4 Indian players in Hundred History

Smriti Mandhana

Mandhana had a decent run in the 2021 edition of the Hundred competition. She made 167 runs from 7 matches ( 7 innings) with 2 half-centuries to her name and best score of 78.

The stylish left-handed batter Smriti Mandhana had a decent run during the 2022 Hundred competition. She played for Southern Brave and scored a total of 211 runs from 8 matches ( 8 innings) with the best score of an unbeaten 57.

During that competition, Mandhana scored a strike rate of 151.79. She would be hoping for another impressive performance for the Southern Brave side and take them to victories.

Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues played only 2 matches in the 2022 edition of the Hundred competition. She scored her best score of 51.

During the 2021 edition of the Hundred tournament, Rodrigues finished as the 2nd leading run-getter with 249 runs from 7 matches (7 innings) with 3 half-centuries to her name and the best score of 92*.

Harmanpreet Kaur

The Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur would be looking to make an impression in the Hundred tournament. She was a part of the Manchester Originals side during the 2021 edition of this new format.

During the inaugural edition of Hundred, she played 3 matches and scored 104 runs before deciding to withdraw from the tournament due to an injury.

She would be hoping to get another title as Nat Sciver Brunt will captain Trent Rockets. Brunt and Kaur were a part of the Mumbai Indians side that won the first edition of WPL in 2023.

Richa Ghosh

The hard-hitting wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh will play for the London Spirit side. She will replace Georgia Redymane.

It will be a massive opportunity for the wicketkeeper batter to play with the best. Ghosh would feature in her first Hundred tournaments. She played for Hobart Hurricanes in the 2021-22 WBL season.

She was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise for Rs 1.9 Crore during the inaugural WPL season held this year.
