Royal Challengers Bangalore had a forgettable outing in this edition of the Indian Premier League. Poor decisions, misfielding and lack of quality death bowling cost them a second wooden spoon in the last three years. However, the spotlight was on the girl caught on the camera, Deepika Ghose.
Deepika Ghose was spotted on the stands during the match and in no less than 24 hours, she took the internet by storm ad the cameraman kept focusing on her during the game. A lot of fan clubs were started and her followers on Instagram increased exponentially. In fact, she also got her account verified on social media platforms. For the first time, Deepika has now spoken out of heart explaining the discomfort she has been facing after this hype.
In her recent Instagram post, Deepika Ghose put forward various emotions going through her. She said “I did not want any recognition or realise the number of times that I was on camera. I am no celebrity, just an ordinary girl who was enjoying the match. I did nothing to warrant the kind of attention that ensued after the TV images appeared & I certainly did not seek it.”
Deepika Ghose also said that there has been no privacy on social media after once she appeared on the screen. She continued” While I am grateful for the love, I am disturbed by the unnecessary negativity. It has been an extreme case of abuse, trauma and mental torture. I am confused as to how people found my name/profile. My identity, privacy & life have been hacked in an instant. A lot of the overnight followers are men who have used this platform to be crude, vulgar, vicious & entirely disrespectful.”

Many users responded positively to her Instagram post and lent their apologies for the same. Deepika was extremely saddened by the hate she received from several people especially women after her instant fame and she is looking forward to a better future.
