Tom Moody, a former Australian all-rounder, praised the CSK star after MS Dhoni and company. During IPL 2023, they won the prestigious trophy.
MS Dhoni sarcastically admonished his bowlers after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated the playoff-bound Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by a score of 12 runs in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).
Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, acknowledged how Dhoni’s CSK put their trust in Tushar Deshpande in an interview with Hindustan Times.
Deshpande ended up taking the most wickets for CSK in their championship-winning season, despite allowing the most runs to be scored against him in IPL 2023.
Former Australian all-rounder Tom Moody named Matheesha Pathirana of Sri Lanka as the player who most impressed him last season after CSK won the illustrious championship in the 16th IPL.
Speaking of the star pacer, Moody emphasized the contribution Dhoni made to the quick rise of the Sri Lankan speedster. During the 2023 IPL, the CSK pacer claimed 19 wickets.

“From a bowling standpoint, Pathirana [most impressive performer] has to take home the prize”. As the competition progressed, he excelled and got better.
When there are still four overs left to bowl, he was given a specific assignment to bowl after the 10th over, which is a huge responsibility.
Moody told ESPNcricinfo that, ”MS Dhoni had a great deal of confidence in his abilities and that under pressure. He was able to deliver results most of the time”.
When discussing the willow player who stood out for CSK, Moody praised Devon Conway of New Zealand for capping off an incredible season. “Batting would be Conway. Just his consistency this year was quite remarkable”.
It wasn’t like he always got to bat on favorable fields. But his game appears to be able to quickly adjust to any situation or circumstance.
His reliability at the top gave that batting order that stability said Moody. Conway scored a magnificent 47 off 25 balls in the IPL 2023. And the CSK player was also named Player of the Match. The CSK opener scored 672 runs in 16 games.
