His efforts have also placed him among elite company, registering the highest Ashes aggregate since Steve Smith amassed 774 runs in the 2019 Ashes. While England’s Joe Root is the next best batter in the current series with 394 runs from nine innings, the gap between Head and the rest of the field highlights how decisive his contributions have been.
