With the limited-overs done and dusted, India and New Zealand will now lock horns in a two-match Test series starting from February 21 (Friday) in Wellington. The Kiwi pacer Trent Boult, who is coming from the back of an injury is raring to go and has thrown a challenge to India skipper Virat Kohli, who is currently the top-ranked ICC Test batsman.

Boult’s last international appearance came against Australia in the Boxing Day Test last year. He fractured his hand during the game and the injury forced the 30-year-old to miss the limited-overs series against the Men in Blues. It will be thrilling to witness a deadly battle between Trent Boult and Virat Kohli.

The talismanic run-scorer has largely been successful in New Zealand amassing 735 runs from 13 innings including two centuries and three half-centuries at an average of 66.81. Kohli will continue to keep up his excellent run as he eyes to retain the No. 1 batting position.

“That’s personally why I play the game, to get guys like that (Kohli) out and test myself against them, so I can’t wait to get stuck in. But he’s an exceptional player. Everyone knows how great he is,” Boult said.

Furthermore, Trent Boult added that he is preparing for a pace-friendly wicket and is excited to take the field. The wicket in Wellington is perfect for a five-day Test match and Boult hopes to continue his good run in this ground.

“I’m preparing for a solid wicket. It generally is very good here and goes the full distance (five days). I do enjoy playing here, the history that’s involved, and it’s going to be an exciting week building up. I can’t wait to get out there,” the southpaw concluded.
