Prithvi Shaw performed up to the expectations of the Indian fans as he hit a century on debut. The 18-year-old became the second Indian player after Sachin to score a test century before turning 19.
With a healthy strike rate, Prithvi Shaw”s 15 boundaries were a treat to watch in the process. Though KL Rahul fell for a duck in the very first over, his partnership with Pujara is still on and the side is set to post a huge score on the board.
Earlier today, he received the cap from Indian skipper Virat Kohli as Prithvi Shaw became the 293rd player for India.
It is to be noted that Prithvi Shaw scored centuries in his debut match in Ranji and Duleep Trophies. Prithvi maintained the streak by scoring a responsible knock in the International format also.
This century is also the third fastest by a debutant and second by an Indian debutant after Dhawan”s knock against Australia in 2013
