Twitter Is A Double-Edged Sword, It Has Done Me More Harm Than Good: Says Sanjay Manjrekar

Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is known for his bold statements on social media. The former cricketer has grabbed attention several times regarding his controversial statements.

This time Manjrekar has provided his thoughts on social media platform; Twitter, calling it a double-edged sword. He revealed that Twitter on many occasions hasn’t served him very well and most of the time it has done more harm than good.

“Twitter is a double-edged sword. It has served me well on many occasions and hasn’t served me well on many occasions. Now, at this stage, when you sort of balance it, I think it has done me more harm than good,” said Manjrekar.

Indian cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar further confessed that social media is a beast and he has not been able to understand all its aspects and he is still attempting to figure out the dynamics of Social Media.

“Social media has been a beast that I have not been able to tame or understand. I’ve tried different techniques, but yeah still trying to understand the dynamics of social media,” said Manjrekar in a chat with ESPN Cricinfo.

Sanjay Manjrekar’s recent comments on Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin attracted a lot of heat

The cricketer-turned-commentator was recently seen talking about Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the YouTube video posted by Espncricinfo. He addressed that Ashwin is not an all-time great cricketer in the longest format of the game. The main reason he gave behind not considering Ashwin all-time great is the spinner doesn’t have a 5 wicket haul in SENA countries.

Sanjay Manjrekar had further concluded that only players like Sir Don Bradman, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virat Kohli can be termed as all-time greats.

The cricketer turned commentator received a lot of backlash on social media after this statement on Ashwin as many people consider Ashwin an all-time great test bowler for his impeccable contribution in Test cricket. Ravichandran Ashwin is the 4th highest wicket-taker for India in Tests and has picked 409 wickets in just 79 matches. He is soon expected to surpass Harbhajan Singh and Kapil Dev to become 2nd highest wicket-taker for India in tests just behind Anil Kumble.
