Rohit Sharma took to social media to post a cute picture with Indian teammates Dinesh Karthik and Shardul Thakur. The trio is currently in England for the Test series, with Karthik appointed as a commentator.
Ahead of the impending 5-match Test series against England, the Indian team competed in a practice match. The game, played against County Select XI, ended in a draw. Although Rohit didn’t spend much time at the crease, the rest had a good outing in the middle. Particularly KL Rahul, who scored a stroke-filled century.
There are a few days left for the next game, which will be an intra-squad match. During their free time, Mumbaikars Rohit and Shardul Thakur met up with Dinesh Karthik. The three had a good time, visible in the photos shared by Rohit on his official Instagram handle. The 34-year-old captioned the post:

Can Shardul Thakur get a sneak in ahead of Ishant Sharma for the Test series against England?
Since India has struggled with their batting in recent Tests, an optimal decision would be to lengthen the batting. Since Ravindra Jadeja gave a good account of himself in the practice match, it’s infeasible to drop him. Instead, Men in Blue can bring in Shardul Thakur in place of Ishant Sharma.
Thakur is a swing bowler and has proved he’s capable of picking up wickets. He picked up 7 wickets in his only game during the Australian tour, while scoring a measured fifty in the first innings. He is very much capable of holding his own with the bat.
Since the Indian tail is extremely vulnerable, Thakur’s presence adds a bit more zing to the lower order. It’s definitely something the team management will consider going into the match-up.
