MS Dhoni, the legendary former Indian captain, was recently seen alongside the renowned actor Mohanlal Viswanathan. Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, led the Chennai Super Kings to victory in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL). He is currently on a break from competitive cricket.

On the other hand, Mohanlal, not only a superstar actor but also a film producer, playback singer, film distributor, and director, is primarily associated with the Malayalam film industry. However, his talents have extended to Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada films as well.

Former India captain MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, continues to serve as an inspiration for the younger generation of cricketers. With a stellar career as a player and captain, Dhoni remains remarkably grounded both on and off the field.

MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in world cricket

A heartwarming video went viral this month, showcasing MS Dhoni’s humility and kindness. In the video, he made a young cricketer’s day by offering him a ride on his motorcycle after a training session in Ranchi. This gesture exemplified Dhoni’s down-to-earth nature and resonated widely on social media.

Dhoni, aged 42, is arguably India’s greatest-ever captain, overseeing the team’s triumphs in three major ICC tournaments: the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Throughout his captaincy, Dhoni led India in 332 matches, the highest number by any captain in international cricket. Out of these, he secured 178 victories, suffered 120 losses, tied six matches, and 15 ended in no results.

His win percentage as a captain stands at an impressive 53.61%, coupled with the numerous trophies he secured, making him India’s most successful captain to date. In these 332 matches, Dhoni amassed 11,207 runs in 330 innings, boasting an average of 46.89 and a striking rate exceeding 76. He recorded 11 centuries and 71 fifties as a captain, with a remarkable best score of 224. It’s safe to say that the responsibilities of captaincy never affected Dhoni’s performance on the field.

His achievements on the international stage extended to his participation in franchise cricket. MS Dhoni notably played for and captained both the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MS Dhoni steered CSK to five IPL titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023. Additionally, under his leadership, CSK secured two Champions League T20 titles in 2010 and 2014.
