Expressing frustration over being sidelined, he claimed he was being blacklisted despite still having the potential to represent Pakistan. “I have five years of cricket left in me, and I want to play for Pakistan again, not just in leagues,” he stated, signaling his desire for national team reinstatement rather than a focus on domestic or franchise cricket.

Akmal’s once-promising career has been derailed by off-field controversies. After making a sensational debut, he struggled to maintain consistency and soon faded from the international scene.
