The Under 19 Indian captain Uday Saharan along with Sachin Dhas showed a brilliant batting display in their final Super Six game against Nepal played at Mangaung Oval, Blofemntion on 2nd February 2024. Indian captain Uday Saharan won the toss and decided to bat first. Arshin Kulkarni and Adarsh Singh showed intent in putting pressure on Nepal bowlers.

Priyanshu Moliya was promoted to number 3 and looked good before getting out. Arshin Kulkarni also lost his wicket with the Indian team struggling with the scoreboard reading at 62 for 3. Captain Uday Saharan came to the crease along with Sachin Dhas. Both batters looked composed taking singles and hitting bad deliveries away for boundaries. Saharan kept the momentum going for the Indian team with fifty off 61 deliveries while Dhas reached fifty off 50 balls.

Both batters did not allow the Nepal bowlers to settle hitting boundaries and taking singles with ease. Uday Saharan made the batting look easy along with Dhas. Dhas reached a century off 93 deliveries while Saharan completed his century off 106 balls. It was a brilliant partnership that put the Nepal bowlers under pressure. Saharan and Dhas added 215 runs for the 4th wicket. Musheer Khan came later down the order as the Indian team posted 297 for 5 in 50 overs.

Uday Saharan’s performance in the Under 19 World Cup 2024

Uday Saharan has performed brilliantly with the bat for the Under 19 World Cup 2024 so far. He began the tournament with well-complied 64 runs in the opening match against the Bangladesh team helping the Indian team post 251 for 7.

He then followed with 75 in the second match against the Ireland team that helped India post 301 for 7. Saharan showed his class with another quickfire knock of 35 against the United States of America during the final Pool game.

Uday Saharan looked good in the first Super Six game against New Zealand. He made 34 off 57 balls on a tough batting paradise. He is currently at 308 runs from 5 matches so far and hopes to continue his superb form in the semi-finals and finals.
