Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has finally addressed the cheating allegations levelled against him by his former wife, Dhanashree Verma. During a recent episode of the show Rise and Fall, a viral clip showed Dhanashree claiming that she had caught Chahal cheating merely two months after their wedding.
The leg-spinner has now firmly denied the accusations, insisting that he is a professional sportsperson and would never engage in such behaviour. The couple, who tied the knot in 2020, appeared to share a smooth relationship for the first two years of their marriage. However, things started deteriorating in 2022, leading to their separation and eventual divorce in 2025. According to reports, Dhanashree received an alimony of ₹4.75 crore as part of the settlement.

In an interview with HT City, Chahal expressed deep disappointment over their personal issues being discussed in public. He reiterated his innocence and stated that he has moved on from that chapter of his life. “Abhi bhi kai log uss cheez ko pakde hue hain, abhi bhi unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai, toh they can continue doing that. I am not concerned or affected. And I have a feeling this is the last time I am addressing that chapter of my life,” he said.
Chahal also questioned the timing and motivation behind Dhanashree Verma’s comments, which recently made headlines across social media and news platforms. He highlighted the inconsistency in her claims, pointing out that their marriage lasted for four and a half years. If she had indeed discovered infidelity just two months in, he asked why she chose to continue the relationship for so long.
Moving On From the Past
Yuzvendra Chahal made it clear that he considers the chapter closed and does not wish to revisit the controversy. He emphasised that he remains unaffected by the noise surrounding the issue and prefers to focus on his professional and personal growth.
Chahal’s remarks underline his intent to distance himself from the ongoing drama and avoid any further public discussion about his failed marriage. Despite the media storm surrounding the allegations, he appears determined to keep his focus on his cricketing career and future endeavours rather than dwelling on the past.
