Venugopal Rao announces retirement from all formats of the game

Indian cricketer Venugopal Rao has announced his retirement from all formats of the game with immediate effect. He represented India in 16 ODI”s in the last decade. He also led the Andhra Pradesh side in domestic tournaments over a long period of time.

This news was confirmed by the latest statement issued by Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association. Rao also represented three IPL teams during his T20 outings. He was first roped into the Deccan Chargers side before being bragged by Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers.

Venugopal Rao made his International debut in 2005 after a classy outing against a quality English “A” side. He last played an international game back in 2006.

He scored over 7000 runs as a part of his first-class career with a fantastic average of over 40. Rao was also one among the members of Under-19 squad 1999 that clinched the title under  Mohammed Kaif.

A decline for Andhra Cricket 

With Rayudu and Venugopal Rao retiring in a month”s time, the domestic side will have huge shoes to fill in the next season.
