Former India skipper MS Dhoni is arguably the greatest Indian cricketer to play the sport. Ever since he made his debut in 2004, Dhoni has taken Indian cricket forward. Recently, Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal labelled praise on his Indian counterpart as one of the best cricketers to play the game.

Apart from his contribution with the bat and wicket-keeping, Dhoni’s cricketing brain separates him from the rest. The cricketer from Jharkhand is the only cricketer in history to win three ICC titles. He also took Indian cricket to the top of ICC Rankings in Test cricket.

On being asked how he would rate MS Dhoni, Kamran Akmal said he is the best Indian wicket-keeper batsman to play the sport. The Pakistani cricketer was expressing his views while speaking on a YouTube show Cric Cast.

“I feel he is the best ever wicketkeeper-batsman in the Indian team who has achieved so much for India, unbelievable. The way he has performed consistently, to keep an average above 50 in ODIs and play such match-winning innings,” Akmal said.

Speaking further, Kamran Akmal believes MS Dhoni deserves all the credit for India’s accomplishment under his leadership. He also said that the unbelievable performer is one of the very few to play the game.

“However much credit you can give to MS Dhoni – 50-over World Cup, T20 World Cup, IPL, Champions Trophy – I feel all achievements are there in his captaincy.

“He is an unbelievable performer, I will say very few players come to cricket like MS Dhoni,” he added.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni last played during the ICC World Cup in England last year. Since then, his retirement speculations have been on an all-time high. He was gearing to make a return during IPL 2020 but BCCI had to cancel it for an indefinite period. However, BCCI hasn’t ruled out hopes of hosting the competition and is likely to run from September 26 in UAE.
