India beat Australia by eight wickets in the final of the U19 WC at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand and grabbed the title for the fourth time.

Winning Indian U19 Skipper Prithvi Shaw thanked all the fans for their support. He mentioned “Thank you very much for your support. We are looking forward to coming to India and hand over the trophy to you. Love you all”.
Prithvi was seen kissing the trophy along with the support staff thus making the photo session a cherishing and a memorable one. Prithvi now becomes the fourth Indian captain to win the U19 WC after Kaif, Kohli and Unmukt Chand. His team has been rewarded by BCCI an amount of 30 lakh each.

Prithvi Shaw smashed 261 runs in 6 matches at an average of 65.25, thus becoming the highest run scoring Indian captain in the history of U19 WC surpassing Unmukt Chand”s 246 in 2012.

Prithvi rose to prominence in the 2016-17 Ranji season when he hit 537 runs in the season for the Mumbai team.His first-class career knocks paved way for his captaincy role in this World Cup and he surely made this opportunity count.
Prithvi Shaw will now represent Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. Under Ricky Ponting”s mentorship, he is expected to deliver quality performances on the field.
