Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist all smiles after the Ashes victory of southern stars. Defeating the English women in all formats of the game played till now, Gilly lauded their efforts on the field. He further said that this would inspire a lot of young girls who are looking forward to taking up the game.

“Unbelievable effort, typically from our women”s cricket team. They are world beaters, world leaders. To secure the ashes so quickly is amazing. They will provide a great deal of inspiration to the young blokes who are just about to start off, so good luck to them”, said Gilly in an interview with the official WACA channel. He is also glad that the winning side had a couple of Western Australians in it.

Meg Lanning”s century helped the Australian side win the first T20I game thus attaining a 10-2 lead in the points table. The hosts are yet to win a single game in the series and this shows the complete domination exhibited by the Aussies.

The southern stars already won the three-match ODI series besides drawing the only test. A complete team effort put them on the top in the entire tournament. Their victory margins show us the quality of cricket played by them over the past three weeks.
