Australia is currently playing West Indies (Windies) as a part of the group stage in the cricket world cup today. Windies bowlers came out all guns blazing as they put the defending champions in tatters in the initial overs.
The Kangaroos lost their top order in no time and had no answers from Windies bowlers. Cottrell, Oshane Thomas and Andre Russell troubled the batsmen and provided a wonderful start for the side. However, Steve Smith was unfazed by all these troubles.
He made sure to absorb the pressure and scored a brisk 73 off 103 deliveries and played a wonderful role in taking the side to a respectable total by batting with the middle order. After making 73, his dismissal has to be one of the talking points in this world cup.

Sheldon Cottrell pulled off a stunner near the boundary line. Oshane Thomas who has been in good touch since the home series against England proved his mettle by troubling him in his final spells. Smith couldn”t believe what just happened and Cottrell caught the ball single-handed and made sure to balance well from the boundary line.

This world cup has been a one to applaud the fielders as we have seen a few from Stokes, Quinton de Kock and now Cottrell. Nathan Counter-Nile”s belligerence has now taken Australia to a way higher total than expected and Windies in all possibilities will be chasing a target of 280+. Can the return of Evin Lewis make things easy for windies? Only time will tell
