A breathtaking bowling performance from Ishant Sharma has put Indian on a driver”s seat as 194 runs are needed to gain a lead of 1-0.
Ashwin and Ishant turned predators as they picked wickets in regular intervals. In the process, Ishant also became the second player to pick three wickets in a single over outside Asia after Anil Kumble”s spell in Australia(Adelaide, 2003).
But one shouldn”t discount the gritty innings by the Indian skipper who led the team from the front. His belligerent knock of 149 had shaped up the innings very well and made sure that India fell short of just 19 runs. The social media applauded his splendid efforts and even several legends of the game were seen congratulating the skipper.
Bharat Army, the Indian equivalent of “Barmy Army” was seen singing a special song for Kohli outside the premises of Edgbaston stadium. A group of Indian fans also accompanied them and were spotted humming in a Rythm the following lines :
“We”ve got Virat Kohli. I just don”t think you understand, he”s MS Dhoni”s man, he smashes Pakistan, we”ve got Virat Kohli.”
